Veteran's Day 2010

I am having a hard feeling about this day, and understand this is my opinion, I feel this day is highly under rated, as out troops are honored ONE day out of 365 days, these are people that leave their families for long amounts of time to go in territory that is unfamiliar and uncertain. They leave the people that love them and they love, with no guarantee that they will return home...... I think we take their willing to fight for our country, our beliefs, our FREEDOM, for granted at times, as I have heard some say "that's their job", " yes, it is their job", but they do it, expecting NOTHING in Return, they do it for their families, we never asked them to, they do it because they are those who are will to protect out country, even if it means their life.... I have been blessed to know some of the greatest veterans, as I am particuarly biasted... My grandpa Meigs, servered in WWII as Sargent Gunner, which WWII was a very defining moment in our history. I have sat and listened to many of his war stories growing up and noticed that the pain and everything that experienced over there was still in the back of his mind, as I would find him telling me a story in mid-story remember something and just stop. And begin talking about another point, my grandpa lived to be 93 years old just shy of his 94th birthday....

My other close veteran was my one and ONLY Shawn. He served in the Navy as a rescue swimmer. yes, he is an amazing swimmer, I was a lifeguard and he puts me to shame! LOL!
So as a surprise I had a little something prepared for him on a day, that was designed for those who put their lives on the line so we can be called AMERICANS.....  Shawn is not a selfish person, he is quite, humble, and will go the distance when he starts something, he sees it through.  I have seen those same characteristics in others that I have known that went on to serve our country.....
So I called a bakery that is in our area that is amazing when it comes to food, and i wanted this to be special and relate to Shawn so take a look.

Yes, he is my HERO!!
I just  wanted to pass on a note, When your laying at home, secure with your family, and you begin to be a little selfish, think about those people who are grieving at home or rubbing the pillow of a loved one that isn't there for the moments in their life, because their life was cute short due, fighting for our rights or still fighting for those right we so truly want to keep.
Say a prayer and be Thankful not just one day, because a soldier never truly leaves battle for they forever hold on to those memories.
Have a Blessed Day!

Aunt Tiffie........ Nov 01, 2010

So 2 weeks after our Mexio trip in Oct., my best friend flew in to see her husband's family as well brought their newest addition..... BABY KASELYNN!!!! OMG! she is just gorgeous like her mother. I was in love the moment I seen her when Shandi opened that door and had that precious baby girl in her arms!!  I was fighting back soooo many tears, in that moment, as I have seen Shandi in 2 YEARS so it was a great moment, as I was soo nervous to see her after that long. But it wasn't awkard at all, we picked up right were we left off, in that moment it didn't even seem like 2 years, it seemed like we were never apart, that is a TRUE FRIENDSHIP!! And I couldn't be more thankful for that kind of person to be in my life....and now I will get the pleasure of watching her daughter grow! So alot of the pictures are of KK in a grey sweater with a pink rose and brown and pink head band and pink hat is what Shawn and I got her, considering the outfit that we originally got her didn't fit! But, oh as you will see she is gorgeous!!!

I was in absolute "Aww" of her...... Shandi is the mother I knew she would always be, and she is amazing with her, as well as Ashley is also... They have brought in a beautiful baby girl.... Who I am honored to be her "auntie tiffie"

HOPE you have a Blessed day!

2 Birthdays, a Fishing Trip and one heck of a vacation...............Oct 2010

Yes, I know I am horrible at this, I am not trying to make excuses however, it has been extremely crazy since I left off and we were leaving for ourvacation in late October.  I apoloigze that I am piling this all on one blog, there is alot to make up for so please bare with me on this one,,,,,,,,,
So we headed out for our trip to Mexico, first off let me say, if we had any indication on how our trip was going to be based off our first day, we were DOOMED! So we landed in Houston, TX and were having to stay over night there as our airline screwed up our flights and so we had our room compted which always helps the sting of your trip being DOOMED, so we are at the baggae claim area to pick up our luggage when out of everyone on the plane, the ONLY luggage they lose or "misplaced" was ours and of course it had to be the one that HAD EVERY piece of clothing we needed, in it!! RIGHT.... LOL! So I called a friend of mine Dawn Johnson, who we actualy saw on our way to board the plane, from XNA to HOU, and she was AMAZING!!!! She gave me some sence of my sanity back, if you will, lol!! As were waiting out side the Houston Airport I had to get a picture of everyone minus me, on how exhausted we were after that ordeal, if you had ever had any missing luggage you will know that it takes alot out of you.

These pictures are of before we left for the airport at XNA.....

The below picture is of us after we realized we weren't leaving with our luggage..... UGH!

Here is our hotel room in Houston

This picture is of us watching the Razorbackgame in the hotel bar.... and the refs were not being forgiving at all......as you can see Shawn! LOL!

So after we get checked in to our hotel at the Sheraton at George Bush International, my mom suggested we go down stairs and check out the hotel. We leave the boys in our rooms as they are more concerned about catching the football games, my Aunt Tiney, my mom and I are walking in the lobby and stumble across the hotel bar, and decide to have some drinks, we laughed and just chilled which is what I needed as Shawn and I were having to head to the mall to pick up some clothes to tie us over till they were able to locate our luggage, as all my stress is melting away, Shawn calls and decides to join us, and tells me " THEY FOUND OUR LUGGAGE"!!!!! I couldn't have been happy, so we celebrated our lost luggage, the night drags on and we are all wearing down and just ready to be in Mexico already.... We had an amazing week long vacation, TIP: for all those who want to take a fishing trip, don't plan it til you get down there and do your research , we learned the hard way...... I am going to let you look at the pictures now, the fun cakes my dad and I got as we celebrated our birthday's in MEXICO!!

Here come the MEXICO pictures.....
